Why Soto Painting

Why Choose Us

Six reasons homeowners and businesses across Brentwood, Huntington, the Hamptons and Nassau County keep calling us back.

Prep Is Where We Spend

Patched, sanded, primed and caulked before a drop of color goes on. It is the part you never see and the only reason paint still looks right in five years.

The Owner Is On the Job

Francis Soto runs the crew and works on site. You talk to the person holding the brush, not a call center.

Honest, Up-Front Pricing

Free on-site estimates and the full scope in writing before we start. Returning customers and referrals take $300 off.

Open 24 Hours, 7 Days

Call any time. We paint offices overnight, schedule around your family, and finish Hamptons houses before the season opens.

Your Home Stays Protected

Furniture covered, floors papered, dust barriers up on every demo. We clean the site every day and leave it cleaner than we found it.

One Crew, Whole Project

Demolition, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, flooring, carpentry and paint under one roof. No juggling four contractors to finish one bathroom.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

We're based in Brentwood and work across Long Island — Brentwood, Central Islip, Huntington and Stony Brook in central Suffolk; Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, East Hampton and Montauk on the East End; and Syosset, Locust Valley, Manhasset, Port Washington and the rest of Nassau County. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call and ask.

Painting is the core of what we do — interior, exterior, commercial and cabinet spray painting — but we're a full remodeling crew. We also handle general remodeling, demolition, drywall, carpentry, hardwood and ceramic flooring, stucco, stonework and masonry, electrical work, plumbing and power washing. House and office cleaning is offered through our sister company, Mayen Cleaning Services.

It depends on the size of the space, the condition of the surfaces, how much prep and repair is needed, and the paint you choose. A single bedroom and a full exterior are very different numbers. We give free on-site estimates and put the whole scope in writing, so you have a clear price before any work starts.

We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That means you can call any time, and it means we can schedule work at night, on weekends or over a holiday when that's what suits your home or business — commercial jobs especially.

Yes — $300 off your project for returning customers and for friends and family of past customers. Most of our work comes from word of mouth, so we'd rather put it there than into advertising. Just mention it when you call.

A single room is usually done in a day, including prep and two coats. A whole-house interior typically runs three to five days depending on the number of rooms, the amount of trim, and how much patching or wallpaper removal is involved. We give you a schedule up front and stick to it.

If the cabinet boxes are solid — and most are — refinishing gives you a smooth, factory-style finish in any color for a fraction of the cost of new cabinets, and it takes about a week instead of a month or more. We take the doors and drawer fronts off, degrease, sand and prime everything, and spray them with a hard cabinet enamel that resists chipping and yellowing. Replacement only makes sense when the layout itself needs to change.

Every job starts with protection: furniture is moved and covered, floors are protected with paper or drop cloths, fixtures and hardware are masked, and dust barriers go up on any demolition or drywall work. At the end of every day the site is cleaned up, and at the end of the job we walk it with you before we leave.

Yes. We do demolition, plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, tile, flooring, cabinets, fixtures and paint with one crew and one schedule. That's the reason our remodels finish on time — nobody is waiting on another contractor. The full scope is written out before we start.

Roughly every seven to ten years for a well-prepped paint job, less on the East End and close to the water where salt air and sun are harder on the finish. The biggest factor isn't the paint — it's the prep. Washing, scraping, sanding, priming bare wood and caulking open joints before painting is what determines whether the job lasts five years or twelve.
